What you need to know
Your faculty advisor or graduate registration officer may access your academic record on WebSIS in order to monitor and evaluate your academic performance; help you navigate degree requirements; provide letters of recommendation; consider you for scholarships, awards, and prizes; or for other educational purposes.
Some key points to remember:
- Your department’s academic administrator will give your advisor access to your academic record.
- If you have an advisor in more than one department, both will be able to view your record.
- Faculty advisors and instructors — review MIT Policies and Procedures Section 11.3: Privacy of Student Records before posting student information to any website.
