Environmental Solutions Initiative (ESI)
In line with Fast Forward: MIT's Climate Action Plan for the Decade and its section on The Imperative of Justice, we propose the creation of the Climate Justice Instructional Tool Kit at the Environmental Solutions Initiative. This Tool Kit will house climate justice educational research, and a set of adaptable modules that can serve as supportive tools to enhance faculty member and teaching staff's instruction across departments, labs, and centers (DLCs) at MIT. The Tool Kit will also include resources for student climate justice learning, and other experiential opportunities on campus. To evaluate the effectiveness of the Tool Kit, we plan to conduct workshops for students and faculty members to share their experiences of climate justice teaching and learning at MIT. It is our objective to create instructional resources to confront the intertwined problems of equity, justice, and climate.
